The Rotary Club of Silver City has announced that the five of the 14 Silver High students who recently qualified to compete in the National History Day competition in Washington, D.C., will be speaking to Rotary on May 24, 2022. The teachers guiding these students in the competition are Claudie Thompson and Lee Powell. Silver High has had students qualifying for the NHD competition for several years. The Silver High team will be competing against students from every state in the union and several international schools.

The Rotary Club meets every Tuesday from 12-1 p.m. for lunch in the WNMU Student Memorial Building, Second Floor, Sunset Room. There is a brief “meet and greet”, a short business meeting and then the speaker has the floor. The club welcomes members of the public to the meetings. Guests are asked to contribute $10.00 if they want a hot lunch with salad, dessert and coffee.

All the meetings are currently hybrid; if unable to attend in person you may attend via Zoom, by emailing: info@silvercityrotary.org for the link.
