Geronimo Springs Museum offers larger space for guests

SILVER CITY, NM, March 9, 2023 – The Gila National Forest is hosting “Coffee with Camille” in Truth or Consequences on Thursday, March 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Given the large turnout at past events and the small space available in the Black Range District Office, the event has been moved to the Geronimo Springs Museum.

“I’ve met dozens of concerned citizens in the past three public forums, and have heard a great deal about rangeland, ecosystem, and watershed health; mining, grazing, trails, access, and timber; fire and fuels; wilderness management, and just about everything else that falls under my purview” said Camille Howes, Gila National Forest Supervisor. “It is clear that the communities of the Gila National Forest are clamoring to be heard. I am here to listen and be accountable.”

“Coffee with Camille” is an open forum opportunity to meet and engage with the Gila National Forest Supervisor, Camille Howes, and other forest staff, and for members of the public to discuss topics of their interest and concern. The forest will continue to host these events on a recurring basis, with the location and frequency to be determined by the level of public interest and current events.

Please join us from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 16 at Geronimo Springs Museum, 211 Main Avenue, Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. Please contact Maribeth Pecotte at 575-388-8211 or by email at Maribeth.Pecotte@usda.gov for more information.
