GLENWOOD, NM, March 17, 2023 – The Gila National Forest, Glenwood Ranger District office will be closed Monday, March 20, due staff unavailability.

“We strive to provide excellent service to our customers every day. Unfortunately, due to a combination of staff vacancies, the need for training, and appointments nobody will be available to manage our front desk on Monday, March 20,” said Acting Glenwood District Ranger Pedro Valenzuela. “Maps and permits can be purchased at the Silver City or Reserve ranger districts – we regret any inconvenience to our customers.”

Visitors needing maps, information, or permits may call or visit the Silver City Ranger District at 575-388-8201, 3005 E. Camino del Bosque, Silver City, New Mexico, or the Reserve Ranger District, at 575-533-6232, 5 Smokey Bear Circle, Reserve, New Mexico from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
