GLENWOOD – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District One along with Dustrol, Inc. (Contractor) will begin a Hot-In-Place Recycling project along US 180 near Glenwood, NM.

Hot-In-Place Recycling (HIR) utilizes a specialized machine in which 100% of the asphalt in place is recycled. The asphalt is removed, crushed, rejuvenated, and replaced onto the roadway, restoring flexibility and quality of the asphalt material. This process reduces environmental impacts, speeds up timelines and reduces the cost of roadway miles maintained.

Starting, Friday, May 5, 2023, traffic can expect lane closures beginning at milepost 67 (US 180 & NM 78 intersection) to milepost 87 (Riverside). A pilot car operation will be in place, please reduce your speed and obey traffic control devices.

Work will take place Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Construction is expected to be completed by May 31, 2023, weather pending.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation is committed to the safety of the traveling public and appreciates your cooperation during this work. For updated road information visit: The New Mexico Department of Transportation at www.nmroads.com or call 511.
