Silver City –We are back in Fall. And with Fall, we have a bunch of great programming, perfect for the spooky season.

The Teen and Children’s programming is made possible by the Friends of the Library.

We have most of our programming on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

robotsRight away we have Robots. This is where you build and program robots. You build from LEGO Mindstorms and program using block coding. This is on October 3, at 4pm.

ParanormanWe are starting off spooky season with a movie. This one is ParaNorman which is about a boy investigating paranormal activities. This is done in Claymation. There will be popcorn.  October 10 at 4pm.  

LegosThursday the 12 is Future Engineers at 4pm. Do you like playing with LEGO? Then you could be a future engineer. Learn how to create and be imaginative. Come play with LEGO.

eclipseThe annual solar eclipse is happening on October 14. We will have eclipse glasses and solar activities like solar ovens which is a pizza box that uses the sun’s energy to cook things. So come on back at 10am.

pumpkinThe SW Women’s Fiber Arts Collective will be doing another project for Fall. We will be creating paper pumpkins on October 17 at 4pm.

CircuitsOn October 19 at 4pm, Squishy Circuits is back. Come play with connective dough. Light up LEDS or use a computer program to play games. There will also be Little Bits which are circuits that connect together to do different things like power a fan.

fiddleSaturday, October 21, we will have the Fiddling Friends. Come hear music performed by some amazing kids.

E SportsCp,e here all about E-Sports, the competitions  and the practices of two great teams from NMSU and Silver High School. This will be on October 24 at 4pm.

CoralineFinally, we are doing another Halloween Movie on October 31 at 4pm. This one is Coraline. It is about a girl who wishes for a different life and get swept up in some supernatural events. There will be popcorn.

Other ongoing, weekly events offered by the Library include:

Babytime Tuesdays at 10:00 am. Stories, songs, rhymes and movement for infants 0-24 months and their caregivers. Made possible by Imagination Library; 

Storytime Wednesdays at 10:00 am. Stories, songs, and rhymes for children up to five years of age and their caregivers.
