The outing will start at the Lake Roberts Boat Launch area (see map) at 8:30 am. We'll bird from around the parking area and fishing promontory, and also across the inlet creek to the picnic area side. We'll also bird from the Upper End campground along to the south side of the lake, and potentially the dam area. We will be expecting a range of duck species, possibly with other water birds such as cormorants and grebes. The water fringes should hold a range of sparrows, and with luck we may see a late osprey or an early eagle. Ride-sharing from Silver City? Meet at 7am at WNMU Fine Arts Center south parking lot (see campus map)to convoyto Lake Roberts at 7:15am.Expect to be back in Silver City around 1pm. Site accessibility:Wheelchair-accesssible parking and restrooms are available at both the Boat Launch area and Upper End Campground. Parking area surfaces are mostly flat,loose gravel. Trails at the Boat Launch and Upper End Campground are narrow, sometimes overgrown and muddy, mostly flat though slope increases deeper into trail. The Dam Area is quite steep.
