Heidi Ogas, President of the Board of Directors of the High Desert Humane Society will talk about some of the history of HDHS, what programs they have and services they offer to the community as well as their hopes for the future. She will also entertain questions about "no kill", Trap Neuter and Release feral cat programs and the Silver City and Grant County animal control ordinances.

Heidi Ogas has been volunteering at animal shelters since she was a teenager in Albuquerque. Now a resident of the Silver City for almost 40 years, she has been with the High Desert Humane Society for 20 years. Recently retired after 35 years at James Hamilton Construction, she can spend more time with her own critters and helping those in need in our community.

Childcare is available on second and fourth Sundays. Parents are invited to bring children 3-12 years old to play and participate in activities led by 10th grader Ivy Stephens-Etheridge.
