Opportunity for groups, organizations and individuals to present ideas for the Department's Five Year Strategic Plan
 
SANTA FE - The New Mexico Economic Development Commission will meet on Aug. 23, in Taos at the Sagebrush Inn. The meeting will allow the Commission to conduct its work to complete the Five Year Strategic Plan with public input. The August meeting is the final of several sessions for public input.
 
"The Economic Development Commission meeting will be a great opportunity for individuals and organizations to give their input and share ideas for the Five Year Strategic Plan," said Economic Development Secretary Jon Barela. "The Strategic Plan is a great platform for the Economic Development Department to build its goals for the next five years."
 
"The Commission looks forward to completing the research and public input part of our planning process and providing the state with a sound set of recommendations that are focused on our significant economic resources and institutions." said Alex Romero, Economic Development Commission Chair and president of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce
 
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. with a general business meeting and presentation from the Economic Development Department's staff on research information in the draft proposal of the Five Year Strategic Plan.
 
The opportunity for groups, organizations and individuals to present to the Commission on potential elements they would like to see included in the Five Year Strategic Plan will begin at 1:30 p.m. Presentations should be no more than 20-25 minutes.
