Navajo Dam, NM – New Mexico State Parks invites the public to review and comment on the draft park management plan for the river portion of Navajo Lake State Park. The plan includes a review of existing park resources and proposes improvements for the next five years. The Division encourages public input, and the draft plan will be available for public review until September 9, 2013.

Each state park is required to have a park management plan that defines and proposes a variety of improvements to the park. The objective is to provide direction for the management and development of the park in order to protect park resources and enhance recreational opportunities. The park management plan for the lake portion of Navajo Lake State Park was finalized and issued in December 2012.

Copies of the draft plan are available for review at: 1) the Navajo Lake State Park visitor center (located 25 miles east of Bloomfield on NM 511); 2) the State Parks Division regional office at 1002 Rio Brazos, Aztec; or 3)www.nmparks.com.

Written and verbal comments on the draft plan will be accepted. Comment letters can be delivered to: 1) State Parks Division, 1220 South Saint Francis Drive, Santa Fe, NM 87505; 2) faxed to 505-476-3361; or 3) e-mailed to nmparks@state.nm.us (Subject: Navajo River Plan).
