Farmington, NM - December 27, 2016 - Late winter through early spring is the time to visit Farmington, NM and experience a psychedelic, rock and roll experience. Taking visitors back through the pages of time, the Farmington Museum presents Technicolor Dreaming: Psychedelic Posters from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The exhibit, organized by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Cleveland, Ohio, pays tribute to a colorful time in our nation's history, when pop art and the counterculture movements of the mid-1960s led to the increased popularity of psychedelic posters. Influenced by a combination of the rock and roll music of the time and hallucinogenic drugs, the psychedelic posters tell a powerful story of the era. The Technicolor Dreaming exhibit is a must-see for all rock and roll fans.

In celebration of the exhibit, the Farmington Convention & Visitors Bureau will be offering a special vacation package to visitors in February. The package will include a hotel stay, a thematic meal from a local brewery, and an opportunity to paint your own psychedelic artwork on a vinyl record led by Farmington's own resident artist Karen Ellsburg of Studio 116.

"Farmington is an area rich in history, and we're excited to include history from modern eras as well," said Tonya Stinson, Executive Director of Farmington Convention & Visitors Bureau. "The Technicolor Dreaming exhibit celebrates modern history and the rock and roll greats of years past. With our special package, we hope visitors will come from all throughout the area to share in this experience."

Among the treasures in the collection, the exhibit features examples from the two main series of San Francisco concert posters and famed musicians like Jimi Hendrix, the Doors, Led Zeppelin, the Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd.

The exhibition is free, and is open Monday through Saturday, 8am-5pm through March 25th. For more information, please call (505) 599-1174 or FarmingtonNM.org
