Washington, D.C. (February 16, 2018) Congressman Steve Pearce released the following statement after the U.S. Senate yesterday failed to pass immigration reform legislation along with a solution for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients:

“Now is not the time to stop. The failure in the Senate to pass immigration reform yesterday should serve as guidance for Congress, moving us forward in debate. No one should walk away from the table. I remain open to discussions with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle. While I have a bill of my own that establishes a permanent fix for DACA recipients, this doesn’t have to be the only solution. But, my ideas can certainly help guide the conversation. We must continue working until we find that middle-ground to modernize our strategy along the border and reform the nation’s immigration policies to uphold justice and protect families. I will not stop working on tackling these issues with everyone.”
