Otero County, NM – On October 15, 2019 at about 9:11 p.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal motorcycle crash on U.S. 82, around mile post 16, near Cloudcroft, NM. 

The initial investigation shows a 2018 Honda motorcycle, driven by William Flowers (70) of Linden, NC was traveling west on U.S. 82.  For reasons still under investigation the motorcycle approached a curve in the roadway and collided head-on into an eastbound 2014 Lexus driven by a fifty-six-year-old male of Coburg, OR. The driver of the motorcycle, Flowers succumbed to fatal injuries sustained from the crash and he was pronounced deceased by the Office of Medical Investigator. The driver of the Lexus was uninjured.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash and seatbelts appear to have been properly utilized. The crash is still under investigation. No additional information is available.
