Recognition from New Mexico Counties

SANTA FE, NM – The Adult Misdemeanor Compliance Accreditation Professional Standards Council awarded Santa Fe County a three (3) year Certificate of Accreditation during the New Mexico Counties Legislative Conference on January 23, 2020 in Santa Fe.

“I am proud of the work our team did to achieve this accreditation in such a short period of time.  We worked hard to reach our goal in 7 months instead of the usual 2-year process,” stated DWI Coordinator Lupe Sanchez.  “Santa Fe County now joins the ranks of only 3 other accredited DWI programs in the state. This is an honor and a testament to the expertise of our diligent staff.”

A joint initiative between New Mexico Counties and the New Mexico Municipal League serves as the professional organization to develop and ensure a system of uniform standards for the statewide Misdemeanor Compliance Program. This program holds the gold standard in the state with valid, reliable research, and exemplary correctional practices. It promotes socially responsible and humane correctional supervision policies and practices, sound public policies, adherence to ethics within the justice profession, excellence in professional development, innovation, and education; and fostering integral relationships with the communities served.
