SANTA FE – The office of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Monday announced she is soliciting applications for a vacant position on the New Mexico Highlands University Board of Regents.

The vacancy was created when Regent LouElla Marr-Montoya’s six-year term expired Dec. 31.

Applicants for the position must be registered voters in New Mexico.

The five-member Board of Regents is the governing body for New Mexico Highlands University, located in Las Vegas, N.M. The governor’s appointees must be confirmed by the New Mexico State Senate.

The deadline for submitting applications is 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31.  

Applicants are asked to send a resume and letter of interest to Director of Boards and Commissions Melissa Salazar at melissa.salazar3@state.nm.us.
