Teaches importance of electricity, natural resources and their impact on the environment 

(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) – Next week, about 3,500 fifth grade students from more than 60 schools across the state will learn how to become energy experts in their own homes while saving their family money on their electric bill through a PNM energy efficiency program. The PNM Home Works program teaches kids how electricity is created, the importance of saving energy, protecting natural resources and being environmentally conscious. 

Media is invited to see these students in action in the following Silver City, Las Vegas, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque schools. Other city schools are available by request. Media interviews available at each location below. This is not a public event. 

Who: PNM educates more than 3,000 youth about energy across New Mexico 

What: Interactive and hands-on presentation for fifth graders learning how to save energy, protect natural resources and become environmentally conscious
