Luna County, NM – On April2, 2020 at about 3:20 a.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal crash on Interstate 10, near milepost 96, east of Deming, NM. 

The initial investigation indicated a 2020 Freightliner Commercial Motor Vehicle, driven by Nonamegiven Amit (27) of Fresno, CA was traveling west on Interstate 10.  For reasons unknown the Freightliner left the roadway, entered the median and rolled onto its side.  The driver, Amit was ejected and sustained fatal injuries in the crash.  He was pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of Medical Investigator.  A 26-year-old male passenger in the Freightliner sustained unknown injuries and he was transported to a hospital by Emergency Personnel.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash and seatbelts appear to have not been properly utilized. No additional information is available.
