Help is available through the PNM COVID Customer Relief Program - Millions available in financial help for eligible New Mexico families and small businesses behind on their PNM bill

(Albuquerque, N.M.) – PNM is giving back to its customers this Thanksgiving by paying down, or even paying off, past-due electric bills for qualified families, small businesses, and nonprofits through the PNM COVID Customer Relief Fund. 

With COVID hardships, many businesses allowed customers to defer their bills, however, now those same customers are facing large past-due balances and are worried about how they will ever get caught back up. PNM customers are experiencing the same worry, but PNM has partnered with HELP NEW MEXICO, a nonprofit community action agency that helps people with emergency assistance and is stepping up to help provide some much-needed financial relief this holiday season.

HOW TO RECEIVE HELP PAYING YOUR PAST-DUE PNM BILL:

Residential customers:

1)      Must provide verification of all household income

2)      Must provide copies of IDs for household 

3)      Must provide a copy of your past-due PNM bill

4)      Must apply by calling PNM at 855-364-2950 or apply online at HELPNM.com

5)      Full eligibility requirements at PNM.com/help

Small businesses and nonprofits:

1)      Must be a small business with 50 or fewer employees or a 501(c)3 nonprofit

2)      Must be in the restaurant, retail, hospitality, leisure, entertainment, or services industry

3)      Must provide a copy of your past-due PNM bill

4)      Must apply online at PNM.com/help

Assistance can cover part, or all, past-due balances and is available first come, first serve. Must apply no later than December 31. More information about the PNM COVID Relief Program is available at PNM.com/help.
