In celebration of National Believe Week, Macy’s at Coronado Mall and Make-A-Wish® New Mexico will host a letter drop-off with Girls Scouts of New Mexico Trails at Macy’s Curbside Pickup for enhanced safety. For every letter written to Santa online at macys.com/believe or dropped off at Macy’s stores, Macy’s will double its donation, pledging $2 for each letter (up to an extra $1 million, above the existing $1 million campaign goal) to help children’s life-changing wishes across America come true.

To help Macy’s reach its extra $1 million goal during National Believe Week, Macy’s at Coronado Mall and Make-A-Wish New Mexico are teaming up with Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails to encourage children of all ages to believe in the magic of Christmas and write a letter to Santa in support of granting wishes for children battling critical illnesses in New Mexico.

“The Macy’s Believe campaign is a wonderful holiday tradition that changes the lives of countless children through Make-A-Wish. We are thankful that Macy’s found a way to continue this beloved tradition under challenging circumstances,” said Sara Lister, President & CEO of Make-A-Wish New Mexico. “This year is extra special because Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails has joined with our organization to teach the importance of giving back. We are so grateful to New Mexico’s future leaders for taking an active role in granting wishes in New Mexico.”

“Girl Scouts have always stepped up in times of need, and our current health crisis is no different. We are honored to be able to spread the word about this campaign to collect letters and help grant wishes for children in New Mexico,” said Rebecca Latham, CEO of Girls Scouts of New Mexico Trails. “Girl Scouts are always eager to find ways to better their community, especially when it comes to making an impact during the holidays. Giving back is always in season at Girl Scouts.”

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s letter-writing campaign had to shift to a virtual focus and Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails stepped up to help keep this holiday tradition alive in New Mexico. This partnership is an opportunity for girls across New Mexico to participate in a philanthropic activity that will celebrate the holiday season and teach the importance of giving back to others in their community.

Since 2003, Macy’s has donated more than $132 million to Make-A-Wish, including more than $21 million through the retailer’s annual Believe campaign, helping grant more than 15,500 wishes and impact more than 3.1 million people, including wish kids and their families, volunteers, community groups, medical professionals and more.

Health and safety continue to be a priority this holiday season. Macy’s 2020 Believe campaign offers virtual letter writing experiences, ensuring customers and communities feel comfortable with enhanced safety measures in place.
