The Small Business CARES Relief Grant Program was created by the New Mexico State Legislature in the November 2020 Special Session to provide $100 million in grant funding to New Mexico small businesses that are experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic. Small Business CARES Relief Grants are available to New Mexico for-profit businesses and nonprofit organizations with 100 or fewer employees. According to the New Mexico Finance Authority, 40% of the funds have been set aside for businesses in rural areas.
