SANTA FE — Following news of the passing of Las Cruces Public School Superintendent Karen Trujillo, the Senate Republican Caucus issued the following statement:

"We are both shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden loss of Superintendent Trujillo. She had a monumental impact on our students during her career. Her student-first legacy has been impressed upon a generation of community leaders and students, and her leadership will be sorely missed in our state.

To Mrs. Trujillo's friends and family, we offer our thoughts and prayers, and deepest condolences."
