New Mexico State University’s Undergraduate Research and Creative Arts Symposium, hosted by the William Conroy Honors College to celebrate undergraduate student achievement, begins Wednesday, May 5, with presentations by more than 75 undergraduate students.

Commonly known on campus as URCAS, the longest-running student symposium at NMSU adopted an online-only format last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now in its 26th year, the URCAS annually feature undergraduate honors students from every academic college presenting their research projects, which this year range from a new fashion line to an analysis of polymer characteristics.

“Two of the hallmarks of a great university include excellence in undergraduate education and a vibrant community of scholars propelling advancements across all fields of study,” said Honors College Dean Phame Camarena. “URCAS brings these two threads together and reflects exceptional work from across the university. Everyone is invited to stop by the URCAS website to explore these exceptional projects.”

A schedule of live presentations is available at https://honors.nmsu.edu/urcas.html. A selection of posted materials will be available Tuesday, May 4.

Colleges and programs from across the university supported students’ research and performances, and ensured the success of their URCAS submissions.
