Albuquerque, NM – The Anderson Abruzzo International Balloon Museum Foundation and its board of directors announces “Balloons in June” as a celebratory weekend to celebrate National Hot Air Balloon Day (June 4) at the Balloon Museum Shoppe. 

The Balloon Museum Shoppe has partnered with local businesses along the Alameda corridor such as NM Pinon Coffee, Vara Winery & Distillery and Santa Fe Brewing to create combination packages emphasizing balloons and local drinks.

Packages include a wide array of ballooning interests and balloon inspired get-togethers. 

In addition, Busy Bee Ice Cream Truck, live music and party balloon displays will be onsite at the Balloon Museum Shoppe June 4, 5, 6.  A storewide sale with a 20% discount will be available in person all weekend. Families, museum lovers, balloon lovers can visit the Balloon Museum to celebrate National Hot Air Balloon Day. 

Balloon-lovers packages are available online at www.balloonmuseum.com throughout the month of June. If a package is purchased online this week, customers may receive 4 admissions to visit the Balloon Museum, June 4, 5 & 6.  Executive Director, Laurie Magovern “At the Balloon Museum, we celebrate the history and culture of ballooning year round and after a long year, we wanted to find a way to bring together our neighbors and make it possible for our visitors to bring home some NM and ballooning joy in June.”

Recently, the Balloon Museum Foundation also selected three local artists, Gloria Blinn, Zahra Marwan and Amy Baca Lopez, for its NM Artists Seriesin which their art featuring hot air balloons was used to create exclusive merchandise such as balloon art mugs now available at the Balloon Museum Shoppe. The NM Artist Series is also a fundraiser for the Balloon Museum Foundation. 

The Balloon Museum is open Tuesday-Sunday, 9am-5pm. Admission tickets to the museum must be purchased in advance for a reserved time. Admission tickets may be found www.cabq.gov/balloon.
