Save up to $300 when upgrading evaporative cooling

(Albuquerque, NM) – As summer approaches and temperatures outside rise, be sure and beat the heat with cooling rebates from PNM. These rebates can help reduce the cost for residential customers to purchase and install certain energy-efficient cooling equipment in their homes by up to $300. These rebates are available to customers year-round and can still be used by customers that upgraded earlier in the year.

“The bottom line is that it gets hot here in New Mexico during the summer,” said Melissa Leymon, Manager of Customer Programs and Development at PNM. “Around this time every year I see folks in my neighborhood getting on top of their roofs and turning on their evaporative coolers and the unfortunate reality is that sometimes those units need to be replaced. We want customers to feel comfortable upgrading their cooling systems knowing that they’ll save energy and money on their bills.”

Large Evaporative Units “AKA” Swamp Cooling:

Advanced evaporative cooling rebates are available for up to $300. All qualifying large evaporative units can be found here.

Window-Mounted Evaporative Units:

Window-mounted evaporative cooling rebates are available for up to $150.  All qualifying window-mounted units can be found here.

These rebates are not just for customers who are thinking about upgrading their systems right now. If a customer purchased a qualified unit after January 1, 2021, they are eligible until December 31, so it is not too late to take advantage of the program.
