Albuquerque, June 14—The following is a statement from Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce in observance of Flag Day:

"Today is a day to honor the Stars and Stripes, one of our nation's greatest symbols. Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the American flag in 1777, and we must always respect and defend the principles that are represented by the flag. Everyone should fly our flag proudly and remember what it means: a nation that promotes democracy, freedom and liberties that must be cherished. The American Flag is a source of pride in all 50 states. I wish all across New Mexico a happy Flag Day."
