New Mexico State University will begin a national search to find the next dean of its College of Business.

NMSU Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Carol Parker recently announced that Lakshmi Reddi, dean of the College of Engineering, will chair a committee to assist with identifying qualified candidates. The committee’s first steps will be to assist with drafting the position description and to begin recruiting.

“I am excited to serve on this committee,” Reddi said. “The College of Business is in an excellent position to attract an outstanding leader.”

Parker has asked for input from students, faculty and staff in the current College of Business, as well as alumni and community supporters. Candidate nominations can be submitted at https://webcomm.nmsu.edu/hire/ or by emailing Reddi at BizDeanSearch@nmsu.edu

A survey for gathering input is available at https://www.research.net/r/NMSU-CollegeofBusiness-Dean

“The College of Business enjoys strong community support and delivers an excellent educational experience for its students,” Parker said. “I expect that we will attract many highly qualified candidates who understand and appreciate the college’s mission.”

She said the next dean of the College of Business will have numerous opportunities to develop initiatives as part of the implementation of NMSU’s LEADS 2025 strategic plan, which can be found at https://nmsu.edu/LEADS/.

Parker will soon name an interim dean to lead the College of Business until a permanent dean is selected. Mary Jo Billiot currently serves as acting dean.
