Albuquerque, NM – September 14, 2021 – Originally planned as a hybrid event, the Albuquerque Film & Music Experience (AFMX) will take place virtually for a second year in a row to ensure safety of all participants. Running September 20­–­26, the festival will feature 66 films, as well as Center Stage Conversations, special guests and exciting events. Those purchasing tickets will have the option to view films through October 11.

“While we looked forward to holding some events in-person this year, we’re dedicated to the safety and wellbeing of all participants, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer AFMX 2021 virtually,” said Ivan Wiener, AFMX Executive Director. “We know virtual events allow for people from across the globe to attend and enjoy the incredible array of films and events we have slated, and we look forward to a great year of film, music, and exceptional talent.”

Special guests for AFMX include Buffy Sainte-Marie (Redford Award Recipient), Better Call Saul star Rhea Seehorn, Frances Lee McCain (Footloose, Gremlins, Back to the Future), Snuffy Walden (composer for The West Wing), showrunner Joshua Michael Stern (Jobs, Neverwas, Graves, Swing Vote), Yamaha Entertainment Group’s Chris Gero, Hollywood business manager Brad Lemack, spoken word artists Sekou Andrews and Hakim Bellamy, locations manager Todd Christensen, ABQ Film Liaison Cyndy McCrossen, Maura Dhu Studi and Native Activist LaDonna Harris (Indian 101). Tickets and passes are now on sale with options to purchase viewing for the screening of individual films, a package of films, or a pass good for entrance or viewing to all films.
