In all construction zones, motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and use extreme caution, as well as continue to be cautious of heavy equipment and construction personnel in the area. PLEASE NOTE: Conditions are subject to change without notice. Double fines for speeding in work zones may be in effect.

Interstates: 

I-25 & University Ave, Mile Marker 1, Las Cruces 

La Calerita Construction, LLC (Contractor) project is now substantially complete. The contractor will continue to work on a list of final required construction activities. Some activites may require lane, shoulder or ramp closures. If any long-term closures are scheduled advance notice will be sent out. It is expected that work will continue through mid-November 2021. I-25, Mile Marker 34 to 39, Rincon

Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing a roadway reconstruction project on I-25 north of Las Cruces. A detour crossover will be in place, all traffic will be shifted into the southbound lanes utilizing crossover detour and barrier wall separation. The Rincon, exit 35 northbound on and off ramps will be closed, southbound exit is open, follow detour signage. This closure is expected for the next three months. Hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic control will remain in place 24/7.

I-25, Mile Marker 80 to 105, Truth or Consequences

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District One will be continuing a crack sealing operation on I-25 from T or C north. Motorists can expect lane closures on various lanes from milepost 80 to 105, one lane of traffic will remain open. These closures will be from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., daily, including weekends. Speed limits will be reduced. Crews will be working in five-mile increments at a time, working both north and southbound lanes before moving forward.  

I-10, Mile Marker 21 to 25, Lordsburg

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is currently working on the bridge deck on the eastbound lanes. All traffic is currently shifted to the westbound lanes. The Exit 22 on ramp will be closed but Exit 22 off ramps will remain open, local traffic only. All oversized loads will need to utilize Exit 20, eastbound port of entry is open for all CMV traffic. Detour signs will be in place to direct traffic towards alternate routes. Animas St. will be unaffected and can be utilized in place of Main St. Daily hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic control will remain in place 24/7.

I-10, Mile Marker 44 to 55, Lordsburg

Mountain States Construction, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing a pavement preservation project on I-10 from milepost 45 working eastbound to milepost 55 (Quincy).  Traffic can expect various daytime lane closures in the driving right lanes as well as overnight lane closures as needed. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Construction is expected to be completed fall of 2021. 

I-10, Mile Marker 102, Deming

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be performing Bridge Deck repairs at milepost 102 (near Akela) on eastbound I-10. Speed limits will be reduced. Traffic will encounter a lane drop as needed on the driving right lane. Hours of operation will be from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.    

US Roadways:

US 180, Mile Marker 114 to 115, Silver City

James Hamilton Construction Company (Contractor) will be continuing roadwork on US 180. Traffic can expect a lane closure on the eastbound and westbound lanes as well as shoulder work throughout the intersection on US 180 and 32nd Street to Ranch Club Rd. Paving is currently in process with multiple lane closures and detours. Contractor hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. This project is estimated to be completed by end of fall 2021.

US 70, Mile Marker 166-168, Las Cruces/San Augustine Pass 

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be performing roadway repairs due to recent flooding on US 70 from milepost 170 to 168. Lane closures will be in place on the westbound driving lane as needed, speed limits will be reduced to 45 mph. Closures will be in place Monday through Thursday from 8:00 until 4:30 pm. 

State Roadways:

NM 273 Mile Marker 2, Sunland Park

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be performing roadway repairs on NM 273 “McNutt Road” at milepost 2. The driving right lane is expected to be closed through October 30. Motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and be cautious of personnel and equipment in the area. 

NM 152 Bridge Replacement, Hillsboro

The Federal Highway Administration ‐ Central Federal Lands Highway Division (FHWA‐CFLHD) has completed the replacement of the original truss bridges on NM 152. Starting Friday, October 29, crews will begin addressing the concerns with the bridge located at milepost 43. The contractor will be utilizing a flagging operation along with various lane closures to make final repairs. Contractor’s hours are daily, including weekends, from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

NM 404 and I-10 Bridge Replacement, Anthony 

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is continuing with roadwork and replacement of the NM 404 Bridge over I-10 at milepost 162, Anthony exit. Construction closures along with a flagging operation will be in place at the NM 404 intersections with I-10. Daily contractor hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic control will remain in place 24/7.

NM 187 “El Camino Real”, Mile Marker 16.93 to 31.1, Arrey-Caballo 

FNF Construction, Inc. (Contractor) is continuing with replacement of Bridges located in Arrey and Caballo. A shoo-fly diversion is in place at King Canyon (MP 20) and at Seco Creek (MP 26.6). NM 187 is completely open to traffic. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. 

Chip Seal Projects, Grant Co:

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be performing “Fog Sealing and Brooming” operations in Grant Co.  Speed limits will be reduced, no center stripe with loose gravel on roadway. Traffic will encounter lane drops with pilot car and flagging operations.    

Roadways affected will be:

NM 15 from mile marker 43 to 28, Cliff Dwellings

City of Las Cruces Projects:

Tashiro Drive Widening

Tashiro Drive is scheduled to undergo utilities and roadway reconstruction by Morrow Enterprises, Inc., as part of the City of Las Cruces Tashiro Drive Widening Project. Work will begin Monday, October 26, 2020, and the closure is estimated to last approximately 11 months in duration.  Work will take place between 7 a.m. and as late as 6 p.m. During construction, access through Tashiro Drive from North Valley Drive, or North Motel Boulevard, will not be permitted, signage and detours will be present directing traffic around the closure by way of West Picacho Avenue. Access to the Field of Dreams Facility and Baseball Complex will be accessible by way of Tashiro Drive through Motel Boulevard beginning August 20, 2021, thru traffic will not be permitted.

Peachtree Hills Road

Due to storm drain upgrades as part of new residential development, Peachtree Hills Road between Sonoma Ranch Boulevard and Metro Park Street will be closed while Renegade Construction, LLC places concrete box culverts. A detour will be in place throughout the duration of the construction and traffic will be guided through Sirocco Avenue and Metro Park Street.  

Avenida Del Sol

Avenida Del Sol between Reynolds Drive and Cortez Drive is scheduled to undergo roadway and utility improvements by Smith and Aguirre Construction Company, Inc. as part of the Las Cruces Utilities Hacienda Acres, Phase II Sewer Improvements Project. Work will begin Monday, August 23, 2021, and the road closure is estimated to last approximately until October 28, 2021 depending on weather conditions. Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. During construction, access to Avenida Del Sol will not be permitted to through traffic. Access to residences will be maintained.
