Albuquerque, November 29—The Republican Party of New Mexico is dismayed by the latest COVID policy set by the state that can only be described as a political move to push a Democratic agenda.

The Legislative Council Service, under a directive from Democratic leadership, has made it a policy that anyone who wants to attend the upcoming Special Session or the regular Legislative Session in January, must be fully vaccinated and wear masks.

RPNM is alarmed but not surprised at this latest decree that's a deliberate attempt to stifle peoples' involvement in their government and to strip them of their rights by forcing them to be vaccinated.

The Roundhouse is the peoples' House, and again Democrats are pushing protocol that makes no sense and violates our freedoms to be a part of the governmental process.

"Last session, the progressive Democrats hid behind the virus to avoid public scrutiny of their radical agenda," said Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce. "Now they're doing the same thing again: using the guise of 'public health' to keep New Mexicans who disagree with their schemes out of the Roundhouse. The upcoming special session should be a transparent and open process, but instead the Democrats are hoping to avoid any criticism as they work to gerrymander our state to their political benefit. This is wrong and should be reversed."

The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) advances the ideals of individual liberties for the advancement of its citizens and the greater prosperity of our communities throughout New Mexico. Led by an Executive Board and its Chairman, former NM Congressman Steve Pearce, RPNM serves all New Mexicans via its headquarters in Albuquerque and can be contacted at (505) 298-3662.
