In all construction zones, motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and use extreme caution, as well as continue to be cautious of heavy equipment and construction personnel in the area. PLEASE NOTE: Conditions are subject to change without notice. Double fines for speeding in work zones may be in effect.

Interstates: 

I-10, Mile Marker 116 to 139, Las Cruces

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District One will begin Fog Sealing I-10 from milepost 116 towards Las Cruces. Drivers can expect lane closures beginning at milepost 116 (NM 549) to milepost 139 (Motel Blvd/ NM 292). Once the eastbound lanes have been completed, crews will begin moving to the westbound lanes.

One lane of traffic will remain open, off and on ramps will be close temporarily. Speed limits will be reduced. 

I-25, Mile Marker 74 to 75, Williamsburg

Terracon Consultants will begin collecting soil samples on the on-off ramps at exit 75, Williamsburg, and on South Broadway Street for the upcoming bridge replacement project. Traffic can expect reduced speeds and shoulder work in the area. Closures are expected to be on Jan. 25, 2022, from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. 

I-25, Mile Marker 34 to 39, Rincon

Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) is continuing with the roadway reconstruction project on I-25 north of Las Cruces. Currently northbound lane construction has been completed. All traffic has been shifted into the northbound bound lanes utilizing crossover detour and barrier wall separation so southbound construction can begin. The southbound Rincon on and off ramps will be closed, follow detour signage. This closure is expected for the next four months. Hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic control will remain in place 24/7.

I-10, Mile Marker 21 to 23, Lordsburg

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is currently working on the bridge on the eastbound lanes. Traffic is currently rerouted to the eastbound I-10 lanes as the contractor begins construction of the westbound I-10 bridge. Detour signs will be in place to direct traffic towards alternate routes. Daily hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic control will remain in place 24/7.

I-10, Mile Marker 24.9 to 35, Lordsburg

Mountain States Construction, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing a pavement preservation project on I-10 from milepost from milepost 24.9 (Lordsburg East) to milepost 35. Drivers can expect overnight lane closures on both the eastbound and westbound lanes as needed. A 14-foot width restriction is in place. Eastbound exit off ramp at milepost 29 (Lordsburg Turbin) is closed for roadway maintenance repairs, on ramp will remain open. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Construction is expected to be completed spring of 2022. 

US Roadways:

US 70, Mile Marker 166-168, Las Cruces/San Augustine Pass 

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be performing roadway repairs due to flooding on US 70 from milepost 170 to 168. Lane closures will be in place on the eastbound and westbound passing lanes as needed, speed limits will be reduced to 45 mph. Closures will be in place Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 pm until Jan. 30, 2022. 

State Roadways:

NM 273 Mile Marker 2, Sunland Park

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be performing roadway repairs on NM 273 “McNutt Road” at milepost 2. The driving right lane is expected to be closed through May 2022. Motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and be cautious of personnel and equipment in the area. 

NM 404 and I-10 Bridge Replacement, Anthony 

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is continuing with roadwork and replacement of the NM 404 Bridge over I-10 at milepost 162, Anthony exit. The newly build bridge has been completed and traffic has been shifted north. Please follow detour signage in the area, expect delays. Traffic is open to one lane in each direction. Daily contractor hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic control will remain in place 24/7.

NM 187 “El Camino Real”, Mile Marker 23.5, Caballo

NM 187 milepost 23.5 (Greenhorn Arroyo) crews will have an intermittent flagging operation in place for roadway repairs. Motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and be cautious of personnel and equipment in the area. This closure will be in place from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily.

NM 187 “El Camino Real”, Mile Marker 16.93 to 31.1, Arrey-Caballo 

FNF Construction, Inc. (Contractor) has finalized bridge construction located in Arrey and Caballo. All diversions have been removed and NM 187 is open to the traffic. Contractor will continue to be in the area to finalize project construction. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. 

City of Las Cruces Projects:

Peachtree Hills Road

Peachtree Hills Road between Sonoma Ranch Boulevard and Metro Park Street has been opened to two-way traffic. Temporary traffic control and lane merges in the roadway alignment remain in place. Motorist are urged to obey all placed warning signs.
