Positive claim trends for 2021

SANTA FE, NM – New Mexico Counties presented Union, Torrance, McKinley, Taos, and Bernalillo Counties with a Workers’ Compensation Safety Award during the 2022 NMC Hybrid Legislative Conference on January 20, 2022. These counties achieved a positive claim trend and the lowest frequency of workers’ compensation claims for 2021. The awards, based on the number of employees, are divided into five divisions. Each winning county received a $7,000 contribution refund. 

Division 1:  Union County – Has received the safety award five times

        Harding County - Honorable Mention

Division 2:  Torrance County – Has received the safety award six times with one honorable mention

          Hidalgo County – Honorable Mention 

Division 3:  McKinley County – Has received the safety award eight times with one honorable mention

        Rio Arriba County – Honorable mention 

Division 4:  Taos County – Has received the safety award three times

        Luna County – Honorable Mention 

Division 5:  Bernalillo County – Has received the safety award four times with two honorable mentions

        Sandoval County – Honorable Mention
