Donation to support food distribution as well as other urgent needs

(ALBUQUERQUE, NM) – Today, PNM and the Avangrid Foundation announced they are joining forces for a combined donation of $100,000 to the All Together NM Fund to help New Mexicans impacted by the wildfires across New Mexico. The $50,000 donation from PNM is unrestricted and the $50,000 donation from the Avangrid Foundation is specifically earmarked to pay for food distribution.

“We know that the recent wildfires in New Mexico have displaced so many of our friends and neighbors,” said Pat Vincent-Collawn, PNM Resources Chairman, President and CEO. “We are providing these funds to the All Together NM Fund so it can quickly get into the hands of those with the greatest needs.”

“AVANGRID has been doing business in New Mexico since 2014, and we are saddened to learn about the loss many New Mexicans are facing. We understand that people need food and basic supplies, which is why our foundation has stepped in to help,” said Pablo Colón, Director of Corporate Citizenship and Executive Director of the Avangrid Foundation.

The donation will be added to the millions already collected to provide immediate impact to the victims of the wildfires burning throughout the state.

The All Together NM Fund helps our neighbors across New Mexico who have been affected by recent wildfire disasters. Support from the All Together NM Fund will go to emergency shelter, food and water distribution, and other critical services. The All Together NM Fund was established in 2020 by the New Mexico Coalition of Community Foundations in conjunction with the Governor’s office to help New Mexico respond to and eventually recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fund has been used to address immediate needs and offer long-term support for the recovery work that continues to lie ahead with the wildfires New Mexicans are experiencing.
