NMDOT insists drivers respect construction zone

LAS CRUCES –El Paso Electric Company will have nighttime closures in place on US 70 between Rinconada Ave. and Sonoma Ranch Blvd. for the placement of overhead power lines.

Overnight work will begin on Tuesday, May 24, to Friday, May 27, 2022, from 10 p.m. until 7 a.m. All eastbound and westbound traffic will be detoured onto the Bataan Memorial Frontage Road with one lane of travel open in each direction. Speed limits will be reduced. This closure is in place for the safety of the traveling public and employees.
