Poles will be used to enhance bird habitat

(Albuquerque, NM) — Used PNM power poles will be soaring to new heights at the ABQ BioPark Zoo in an electrifying partnership that’s sure to ruffle some feathers.

PNM recently donated a truckload of used wooden power poles to the New Mexico BioPark Society, which accepted them on behalf of the ABQ BioPark Zoo. The donated power poles, which have served their purpose by providing reliable electricity to PNM customers, will now be repurposed to uphold protective netting within the African Aviary bird enclosure.

This partnership promotes sustainability and underscores PNM's dedication to giving back to the community in meaningful ways. The incorporation of these used power poles into the bird exhibit highlights the importance of repurposing materials to minimize waste and promote conservation efforts.

This is the second time PNM has donated used power poles to the ABQ BioPark Zoo.
