James Trowbridge Jones, 74, a longtime resident of Deming, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Thomason Hospital in El Paso, TX.

Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, July 27, 2013 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel where a celebration of life will take place led by Rochelle and Kailyn Cordova. Cremation will follow and inurnment will take place at a later date.

Jim was born February 12, 1939 in Sacramento, California to Luther and Frances Jones. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force as a Finance Officer. He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association, Woodmen of the World, LCROA Member, a participant in his local Neighborhood Watch Program, the International Brotherhood Motorcycle Campers (IBMC) and a member of the Deming Humane Society. Before retirement Jim was employed at Deming Cycle Center, M&M Auto, E&M Truck Repair, Bill’s Auto Safety and various other auto centers. His passion was keeping “true” motorcyclists on the road.

He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Roxann Jones, of Deming, his children, Jennifer Jones and husband Phil; Tim Shaw, Rob Stoker and wife Kim; Vince Stoker; Kathryn Stoker; Daughter in Law, Susie Stoker; Paul Clayton; Rochelle Cordova; 5 grandchildren, Frances Nagi and her husband Cisco, Nicole Howen; Desiree Newell and boyfriend Jim; Amiee Stoker, Troy Melhoff, Mark Melhoff, Amanda Melhoff, Seth Melhoff and Kailyn Cordova; 5 great grandchildren, Shelby, Anika, Bella, and Chevy; numerous friends and bikers nationwide, and his faithful canine companions, Peanut, Sassy, and Buster. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Luther and Frances Jones and his son Jeff Stoker.

Jim was an avid biker and camper. He was an accomplished mechanic. He was known to help anyone in need.
