Lupe Molina Gutierrez, 67, longtime Manhattan, KS and Deming, NM resident died Tuesday, July 30th in El Paso, Texas of natural causes.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, August 3rd at Baca Funeral Home, 811 S. Gold, Deming NM. A concluding service and burial will follow at Sunrise Cemetery, Manhattan, KS at a future date.

Mrs. Molina was born January 31st, 1946 in Madera, Chihuahua, Mexico to Rómulo Armendáriz and Juliana Armendáriz Salido.

She was married to Ignacio Montañez in 1966 and later divorced. She married Neftaly Molina in 1980 and later divorced. She married Narciso Gutierrez in 2010. He survives of the home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jose Luis Montañez; two brothers, David and Noe Armendáriz; a sister, Lidia Cordova; and a granddaughter, Savanna.

Mrs. Molina worked at the former St Mary’s Hospital as a housekeeper for nearly 20 years before starting a home daycare. She had a huge impact on her young charges and is remembered as a kind and nurturing provider. She had a way of spreading sunshine everywhere she went whether in her delicious tamales or by sharing the strength of her faith. She was remarkable for her tenacity, as well as her unwavering love of family. With her stolid nature and cheer she was and will continue to be a positive influence to many lives.

Survivors include one son, Ignacio Montañez (Samantha), Manhattan, KS, Two daughters, Camelia Kelly (Kevin), El Paso TX. Rocio Molina (Chad), Lawrence KS; Four brothers: Jim Armendáriz (Cheryl), Manhattan, KS, Francisco Armendáriz, Bloomington, IN, Oscar Armendáriz, Bloomington, IN, and Roice Armendáriz, Bloomington, IN; Three sisters: Rebeca Villalta, Kansas City, MO, Ruth Battrick (Dan), Marysville, KS, and Olga Alvarado, Deming NM; Eight grandchildren: Adriana, Marissa, Joshua, Alexus, Lea, Isabella, Kyzer, and Maya; Two great grandchildren: Marley and Ariel. She helped raise and educate numerous nieces and nephews including Erin, Lara, Job, and Kelly.
