Jeff Turner rsJeff D. Turner of Silver City, NM, peacefully returned to live with his Heavenly Father in the early morning hours on Monday, April 18th, 2016 at the age of 72.

Jeff was born on May 26, 1943 in New Albany, MS to Jeff D. and Ronalda Quinn Turner.

Jeff grew up in Brookhaven, MS where he helped train horses for his dear friend Paul Turnbow. He later developed a passion for working on cars and began a career in the automotive repair industry.

Jeff followed his family and moved to Silver City in 1964 where he worked for Ernie Brown. There he met Ernie's daughter, Rena, and they were married on July 1st, 1966. Jeff continued to work for Ernie until his retirement at which time he started his own repair shop in downtown Silver City. Jeff was passionate about the automotive industry, and equally passionate in his love of falconry. Jeff spent many weekends a year in this pursuit and became a Master Falconer. He loved being out in nature amongst God's creations.

He was an avid craftsman and engineer, and could build and create just about anything. Jeff was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and loved the Lord and his family.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rena Turner; his son Paul Turner; his daughter Lanice Turner; and daughter DeAnna and her husband, Sam Hanson. He is also survived by his sister, Kay Davis; brother, Jack (Sharon) Turner; brother Ron Turner; and brother Robert Turner. Jeff was blessed with 14 grandchildren; Michael, Nicholaus, Brianna, Samuel, Moses, Noah, Alezander, Matthew, Sierra, Dominic, Dawson, Sedona, Solei and Sequoia; also 2 great-grandchildren, Alliya and CJ.

He was preceded in death by his parents. On Jeff's behalf, Rena would like to express a heart-felt thank you to the many wonderful acquaintances, neighbors, friends and customers that they have had the privilege of knowing over the years through their business and the community.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 23rd, at 10:00 a.m. at Terrazas Funeral Chapel in Santa Clara, NM, with the interment to be held at the Cliff Gila Mesa Cemetery, in Gila, NM immediately following the funeral services.

Dad, we will miss you dearly; the way you made us laugh, the animated stories you told, your love of life and adventure, your words of encouragement and your precious tender heart. God be with you till we meet again!
