Fletcher C. "Shanty" Bowman, 83, passed away in Las Cruces at Memorial Medical Center on Thursday April 20, 2017.

Fletcher was born to Mabel Guyon and Fletcher Bowman Sr. in Albuquerque, NM. Fletcher "Shanty" enjoyed being active in politics, selling life insurance and especially Deming Wildcat Athletics Program. He was loved for his compassion and giving nature to everyone. He will be greatly missed.

Fletcher is survived by his loving wife, Mary of 58 years. They had three daughters Janet, Charlene husband Steven, and Kathy; three grandchildren Adam, Abby, and Nathan; siblings Helen, Clenton, and Frances.

He was preceded in death by parents Fletcher and Mabel Bowman; brother Herb; bother in law Johnnie and sister in law Joy.

A memorial service will be at the First United Methodist Church at Three-Thirty in the afternoon on Wednesday April 26, 2017. Pastor Ernie Vineyard will officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Mimbres Crematory.
