Beverly Jean Laws, 83, of Silver City NM, passed away April 6, 2020, at home surrounded by family. She was born September 9, 1936, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of late Helen and Pete Gelwicks. She was their only child. On June 19, 1956, she married Tom Laws in Albuquerque NM, who preceded her in death.

She graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque, NM in 1955. After her marriage to Tom she followed him and his work assignments to Tonopah, NV; Las Vegas, NV; Estancia, NM; Las Cruces, NM; and Roswell, NM.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Deborah Laws of Silver City, NM; grandchildren, Erin and Adam Grimes of Phoenix, AZ; Ashley and Augie Montenegro of Silver City, NM; Hanna and Josh Guerrero of Silver City, NM. Daughter Tambra (Sam) Laws of Greely, CO; grandchildren, Tim Straley of Greeley, CO; Jeff and Jovanna Straley of Gilcrest, CO. Daughter and son-in-law Suzie and Mario Rivas from Leander, TX; grandchildren, Seth and Kristen Berry of Pflugerville, TX; Leah Kay & Freddie Medina of Conway, AR. and 10 great-grandchildren.

She will be interned at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Santa Fe New Mexico alongside her husband. A memorial gathering will be there at that time. Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.
