Mary Deleen Chappell Ruebush, 80, entered eternal rest surrounded by loved ones in Monday, August 10, 2020 in El Paso, Texas.  A Graveside Service will be held at Memory Lane Cemetery on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 2:00pm. She was born in Henrietta, Texas on April 26, 1940 to Lee Olan and Mary Cleo Chappell. At the age of 18 she married Norman Lee Ruebush in Bluegrove, Texas and they moved to Deming, New Mexico. In 1969 Norman and Deleen moved their family to Silver City, New Mexico where they have resided since then.

She is survived by her husband Norman Lee Ruebush, married 62 years, her brother Johnny Chappell and wife Frances of Henrietta, Texas. Sisters Linda Shiflett, husband Ralph of Texas and Glenda Buck, husband Don of Arkansas. Her son, Arlin Ruebush, his wife Dawn, granddaughters Kami, Kaylee and her fiancé DJ Bleich, and great-granddaughter Kylie, all of Silver City. Son Randy Ruebush, grandsons Cody and Shane, all of northern New Mexico. Daughter Sharla Ruebush Estep, husband Paul Estep and grandsons Caleb, Ethan and Jake all of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Deleen was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and was baptized at an early age in a dirt stock tank. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to travel with Norman, especially to see the Bluebonnets bloom in her home state of Texas. Their travels included trips to the Outer Banks and Alaska. She enjoyed her home and her family. Deleen was a homemaker at heart, but throughout her life she had many occupations including farmer, hauling cotton to the gin, she loved driving her ”630” LP John Deere Tractor,  artist, cake decorator, seamstress, gardener, and business owner and manager.  Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, “A Loving and Caring Place to Celebrate, Honor, and Remember A Life Lived”, 210 W.
