donleeDonald J. Lee passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2021 at the age of 93. Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Bright Funeral Home.

Don was born November 12, 1927 to Dovie and Dewey Lee in Tipton Oklahoma. They moved to Central New Mexico in 1936 when Don was 9 years old. In 1946 Don was drafted into the army and was sent to the Philippines where he served for 18 months. In 1954 Don married Alice Crumbley, the Love of his life. From 1948 to 1961 Don worked for Kennecott Copper Corporation in Hurley NM.

They moved to Grants, NM in 1961and bought a trailer park. In 1962 they moved to Albuquerque and bought The Cactus Motel. From 1963 to 1973 Don drove a truck for Seymour Lumber Company. Don and Alice Sold The Cactus Motel in 1972 and moved back to Silver City in 1973 to be with family. Don is survived by 3 children, Ronald (Dee) Lee, Barbara Webb and Ella (Dave) Irvin; 7 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandson; Many nieces, nephews and very good friends.
