Socorro Maldonado Villagran, 79, a resident Arenas Valley, NM entered eternal rest surrounded by her family Thursday, February 25, 2021. She was born January 6, 1942 in Silver City, NM to Hilario Maldonado and Juanita Ortega Maldonado. She was a loving mother and grandmother.  

Socorro is survived by two sons, Jose Villagran of Carlsbad, NM; Lupe Villagran of Arenas Valley; one daughter, Maria Villagran and companion Jerry Miranda of Arenas Valley; two grandchildren, Brittani and Joseph Villagran of Carlsbad; a special niece Stephanie Molano and special nephew Joshua Molano of Silver City; one sister, Leonor Gutierrez of Gila; one brother in-law, Sabas Villagran of Silver City; one sister in-law, Rosita Villagran of Silver City.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Guadalupe Villagran; infant son, Hilario Villagran; and her parents.

The holy rosary will be recited by Father Matthew on Saturday, March 6 at 9:30am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. The funeral service will follow at 10am with Father Matthew of Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery officiating.  Concluding service and interment at the Gila Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Tony, Mike, Tim, and Andy Gutierrez, Jake Lawrence, Michael Ogas. and Matthew Molano. Honorary pallbearers her God children, nieces and nephews.
