Daniel “Danny” Rodriguez Castillo, Sr., 77, a resident of Hanover, NM, entered eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.
Danny was born on January 23, 1944 in Santa Rita, NM to Socorro and Luis Castillo. He was calm, kind, generous, patient, and hardworking. Danny was all about his family, everything he would do was for the best interest of his family. Danny served his country in the US Army and retired at the Mine as a mechanic and worked at the US Forest Service. Danny was a devoted father, his greatest pleasure in his life involved spending quality time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his siblings. He would enjoy taking his loved one’s fishing, hunting, shooting, going on bike rides, attending athletic events or simply just being with family. Danny was truly the most unselfish and compassionate man. If anyone ever needed help with anything, he was there lending a helping hand.
He will be deeply missed, and his memories will forever stay in our hearts. Danny will be lovingly remembered by his family. Danny is survived by his two sons: Daniel “Danny” Castillo, Jr of Hanover, Benny Castillo of Albuquerque; two daughters: Victoria “Tori” Castillo Lewis and husband Steven Lewis of Highland Ranch, and Angela Castillo of Bayard, mother of his children Helen Doporto of Bayard, grandchildren: Alexis Castillo, Krystal Castillo, Isaac Castillo, Carolyn Castillo, Isaiah Castillo, Kyra Lewis, Damarion Lewis, Elijah DeLuna, Eden Araiza, and Saphira Araiza; and two great-grandchildren: Allison Brooks and Jaxson Brooks; Siblings : Pascual “Guero” Castillo of Mimbres, Joe Castillo of Hanover, and Vicente Castillo and wife Maria Castillo of Hanover and Margaret Marquez and husband George Marquez of Hanover.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Socorro and Luis Castillo, brothers, Luis Castillo, Reynaldo Castillo. Ramon Castillo and one granddaughter Ashley Nicole Castillo.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022, from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil and a holy rosary to begin at 6pm. The funeral liturgy will be Friday, January 28, 2022 at 10am at Lady of Fatima in Bayard, NM. Concluding funeral mass, interment will follow at Hanover Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Isaac Castillo, Isaiah Castillo, Elijah DeLuna, Ruben Castillo, Mathew Valenzuela and Gabriel Mendoza, Honorary pallbearers will be Vicente Castillo and Adam Castillo.
