Juanita M. Ferrel, 84, resident of Hurley, entered eternal life Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Fort Bayard Medical Center surrounded by Family.

She was born June 25, 1937 in Santa Rita, NM to Jose and Beatrice (Medina) Ferrell. She was an active member of the Catholic Church where she sang in the choir and participated in church activities. She worked and enjoyed providing care to her patients at Fort Bayard Medical Center. She loved to sing, dance and cook but most of all, loved to be with family and friends.

On Wednesday, February 16, 2022, visitation will be at 5 pm at Baca’s Funeral Chapel, following the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 pm. On Thursday, February 17, 2022, the Funeral Liturgy celebration at 10 am at Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Hurley with Father Martin Okonkwo officiating. The Rite of Committal and Burial will follow at the Hurley Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Javier Holguin Jr, Aaron Holguin, Matthew Holguin, Alec Holguin, Roman Holguin and Louie Holguin.

Juanita is survived by three daughters, Arcilia Holguin, Yvonne Holguin and Senaida Holguin (Victor Romero); two sons, Javier Holguin and Raul “Bully” Holguin (Danielle L Holguin); one brother, Joe Ferrell, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Beatrice Medina Ferrell; two brothers, Alejandro Ferrell and Henry Ferrell; three sisters, Dionisia “Nicha” Silva, Margaret M Ferrel and Ticha Ferrel.

Concluding the services, Family and Friends are welcomed to join us at the Hurley Community Center for a reception to share beautiful memories and celebration of her life.
