maddox 01 copyLucinda D. Maddox, 79, a former resident of Silver City, now of Farmington, NM entered eternal rest Friday, May 13, 2022 at her son’s residence in Farmington, NM.  She was born April 13, 1943 in White Plains, NY to John W. and Lucinda Maxwell Drennon.

She married Jimmy A. Maddox on August 23, 1963 and spent 53 years together until his passing in 2017.  She spent her life doing, not watching.  She was involved in many groups, activities and organizations throughout her life that she would inevitably either end up running or teaching.In the  Woman’s Club she held every office; served 2 terms as president.  She chaired a vision-screening program for children.  Silver Stompers (Line dancing), she participated in, ran and taught.  Quilting, painting, Tatting lace, all of which earned multiple blue ribbons and best of show wins.  She volunteered at the Grant County Fair for 15 years.  She was an educator for 33 years with the Silver Consolidated School system.  She was sponsor for the cheerleaders, taught math, computers and specialty math classes.  She authored the textbook for her computer class.  She enjoyed playing games with family including card and dice games, pool and karaoke.

She is survived by her son Thomas Maddox and wife Julie of Farmington; two sons, Kyle (Latisha) Maddox and Sean (Tiffany) Maddox; two great grandchildren, Logan Kaide Maddox and Leslie Kaylind Maddox; younger brother, David Drennon of Pahrump, NV; younger sister, Deanna Rath and husband Bill of Ironton, OH; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will take place at Terrazas Funeral Chapels on Thursday, May 19 at 10am with Pastor Lory Fahle officiating.  Concluding service and interment will follow at Memory Lane cemetery.

The Woman's Club will host a reception for friends and family  the day before the funeral at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 18. 2022.
