Freddie S. Dean, 71, a resident of Bayard, NM passed away December 3, 2022 at Fort Bayard Medical Center.

Visitation for Freddie will be from 5 to 6 pm on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Baca’s Funeral Chapels. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6 pm. Cremation will follow. The Rite of Committal and burial will be at 1 pm on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Hurley Cemetery.

Freddie was born March 19, 1951 in Santa Rita, NM to Manuel and Veneranda Dean. He had worked and retired as a truck driver from Kennecott Copper Corp. From there he went on to work at Fort Bayard Medical Center.  

Freddie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Stella; two sons, Freddie Dean and James Dean (Tammy) both of Bayard, NM; one daughter, Linda Dean of Las Cruces, NM; three brothers, Charlie Dean of Arenas Valley, NM, Ervin Dean (Zita) of Colorado, and Patrick Dean (Lydia) of Albuquerque, NM; three sisters, Josie Prislan of Deming, NM, Carolina Telles (Henry) of Las Cruces, NM and Lillian Dean (Fernando Padilla) of Las Cruces, NM. Also surviving Freddie is his four grandchildren, Skylar Jones, Sierra Dean, James Manuel Dean and Angelita Dean; and his maternal mother-in-law, Elvira Borrego. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Venderanda Dean; a son, Adam Dean; bother, Leroy Dean and his maternal father-in-law, Feliciano Borrego.
