Thomas James Charon, 63, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels.

The Prayer Vigil will be held at eleven-thirty in the morning on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Baca's Funeral Chapel in Silver City, NM. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow immediately thereafter. The Rite of Committal and Inurnment will take place at Hanover Cemetery. Officiating is Father Martin Okonkwo.

Honorary Pallbearers are Ernie Soto, Joel Rowland, Aaron Sapien, Joshua Alvarado, Derrick Trevizo, and Rob Villalobos.

Thomas was born April 25, 1960 in Park River, North Dakota to James O. and Myrtle H. Charon. Thomas was a loving husband and family man. He loved hunting, camping, fishing and spending time outdoors and with his favorite german shepherd, Pepper. He enjoyed working in the yard. Some of his favorite foods were his wife, Dolores', posole and lasagna.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Myrtle Charon; parents-in-law, Emilio and Teresa Trevizo; brother, Jimmy Charon; brothers-in-law, Merle Steinman and Henry and Robert Trevizo; sister-in-law, Judy Charon; and grandson, Brady Charon.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 35 ½ years, Dolores of the family home; one son, Dan Charon (Amanda) of Butte, Montana; his daughter, Jennifer Palomarez (Rob Villalobos) of Silver City; brother, Joe Charon of Wolverton, Minnesota; sister, Nancy Steinman of Lakota, North Dakota; Jackie Lovesee of Bayard NM who was like a sister to him; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
