CarreonMLMary Lou Carreon, 80, a resident of El Paso, Texas passed through transition peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2022 in Fayetteville N.C. surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 9, 1942 in Santa Rita, N.M. to Salvador Delgado Morales and Soledad Ortega Morales.

Mary Lou was a long-time member of the AMORC, also known as the Rosicrucian Order, and T.M.O.   Mary Lou retired from El Paso Natural Gas Company. She had an active retirement and had a life-long love of Chinese martial art. For 18 years she faithfully practiced Chen style T’ai Chi Chuan under Tang Kwok Hung of El Paso, Texas until her illness in 2019.  Mary Lou loved life. She also dearly loved children, helping the homeless and animals, and was always grateful to live one more day while on this earth. She never lost her happiness even while dealing with Lewy Body Dementia.

She is survived by her only daughter, Christina Ramirez, and son-in-law Jack Ramirez of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Lupita Castañon (Arturo) of Santa Clara, N.M. and Grace O. Morales of Silver City, N.M. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Enrique Carreon (’08) and brother Salvador Morales Jr. (’21, Gail).

A Prayer Vigil and Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday, September 18, 2023 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel in Silver City. Officiating is Deacon David Castañon. Concluding Services and Inurnment will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery.
