Lydia Galaz, 84, a resident of San Lorenzo, NM, entered eternal rest Monday, October 16, 2023 surrounded by her family in Los Lunas, NM.  She was born in May 9, 1939 to her parents, Jose and Amelia (Grijalva) Montoya in Mimbres, NM. 

She is survived by her son, Alex Galaz (Vikki) of Los Lunas, NM; her daughter, Louise Lara (Alex) of Los Lunas, NM; her seven grandchildren; Manuel Galaz (Denise), Samuel Galaz, Roberto Galaz, Maria Elena Galaz, Teresa Lara, Alejandro Lara (Jocelyn), Lorenzo Lara (Katie); her six great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Galaz; her parents; her son, Sammy Ray Galaz. 

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 San Lorenzo Catholic Church, with the Holy Rosary starting at 9:00am, recited by Alex Lara and the Funeral service commencing at 9:30am, with Father Martin Okonkwo officiating.  An Inurnment with Full Military Honors will follow at 11:00am at Fort Bayard National Cemetery, where both Lydia and her husband, Manuel Galaz, will be laid to rest together.
