Jesus Beltran Flores, 78, a resident of Silver City, NM, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at University Medical Center in El Paso, TX. He was born on December 24, 1945 to his parents Remijio and Felicita (Beltran) Flores in Ajo, AZ, where he was born and raised. He loved to all family outings/trips, pulling over on the side of the road eating a bologna sandwich and a cold water or Coke. He enjoyed going camping and fishing in the White Mountains. He had such a love for guns, not for hunting, but just to have. He had an incredible work ethic that carried onto his children. In 1973, he began his employment with Phelps Dodge as a laborer and continued his career with Freeport McMoran as a Haul truck driver and due to the strike, relocated to Tyrone, NM where he retired after 41 years. He was known by his co-workers in the mine to be a hard-worker and great example in his field of work. He was always willing to help others. He was also, a Denver Broncos fan; however, he was known to be a team hopper.
He is survived by his sons, Jesus Flores, Jr. of Albuquerque, NM, James Flores of Silver City, NM; his daughters, Corina Rodriguez (Victor) of Duncan, AZ, Lianna Castillo (Rafael) of Tucson, AZ, Jorena Flores of Albuquerque, NM, Jaimy Flores of Silver City, NM, Jakeem Flores of Silver City, NM and Itzel Perez of Silver City, NM; his siblings, Theodore Garcia, Cecilia Madina, Laura Nina Lopez, Julieta Alipas; his grand-children and great-grandchildren; his numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Baby Flores; his grand-daughter.
The Holy Rosary will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Francis Newman Center (914 W. 13th Street, Silver City, NM 88061) recited by Deacon Bill Holguin. The Funeral Mass will commence at 10:30am with Father Bartholomew Ezenwelem. The interment, officiated by Father Jose Maria Corvera, will be on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 2:00pm at Ajo Cemetery in Ajo, AZ. Pallbearers are Jesus Flores, Jr., James Flores, Erikson Molina, Jaime Perez, Victor Rodriguez, Cory Castillo.
