MoralesEErmelinda Morales, 75, a resident of Silver City, NM, entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 9, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.  She was born on December 9, 1948 to her parents Marciano and Sarah (Rios) Flores at Santa Rita, NM. 

She was born in Santa Rita, NM and graduated from Riverside High in Riverside, California. She rejoined the work force late in life after being a care giver for her mother for over 20 years. She worked at the first-born program where she provided education and resources to many families.  She then joined Wal-Mart where she had some of her happiest years and made many dear friends. She felt that her calling in life was to take care of others. She loved being in nature, planting, rock hunting, singing, dancing, crafting and spending time with her grandchildren. When she entered the room, you can feel the love and happiness she radiated.  She will be loved and greatly missed. 

She is survived by her husband Ygnacio “YB” Morales; her three children, Rosalinda De La Luna of Santa Fe NM. Tammie Dominguez, and Judie Dominguez; two grandchildren, Leala Martinez and Marcos Martinez; step-daughters, Maria Lobel, Mary Ann Aguilar (Louie), Eva Herrera (Carlos); eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her three brothers Marciano Flores Jr. of El Paso, TX Robert Flores (Marcy) of Arenas Valley, NM, Andy Gomez (Mary Lou) of Mimbres, NM; her three sisters, Virginia Arriola (Frank), of Tucson, AZ, Mary Lou Rivera of Silver City, NM, Juanita Perez of El Paso, TX; numerous loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Joe Rivera, son in law, Kenny Graves, Jr; and brother-in-law Merjilio “Chino” Rivera.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 12:00pm to 12:30pm at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with the Holy Rosary commencing at 12:30pm and Funeral Mass following at 1:00pm, recited and officiated by Father Martin Okonkwo.  The interment will follow the mass, where she will be laid to rest next to her mother, Sarah, at the Hanover Cemetery. Pallbearers are Leala Martinez, Jessica Dominguez-Grimes, Nathaniel Martinez, Arnulfo Morales Jr., Arnulfo Morales Sr., and Benon Juan Morales Lobo.
